PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE

Under the Planning Manager's responsibility, the Senior Ventilation Engineer will design, plan, track, and report on all ventilation activities in accordance with safety standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Conduct daily vent surveys ;
• Prepare monthly ventilation reports ;
• Update monthly Ventilation Model ;
• Review monthly plans and organize UG ventilation requirements ;
• Provide Quarterly and LOM ventilation planning ;
• Prepare annual and quarterly ventilation cost forecasting ;
• Provide end of quarter reporting ;
• Provide improvement initiatives ;
• Ensure supervision and mentoring of ventilation engineers.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Education:        

• Degree in mining engineering or equivalent.

Relevant Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of underground mining experience in a similar position.
• Knowing how to read and write in French and English.
• Be proactive, dynamic, rigorous, with a high sense of ethics and discretion.
• Have skills in leadership, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and hazard identification.
• Be able to identify any hazard and be able to implement controls to eliminate or minimize the risk.
• Demonstrate availability even after working hours.
• The ability to manage several projects and tasks at the same time.
• A reputation for integrity and ethics.
• Demonstrated supervisory skills.
